I'm not sure which of the use cases your suggestion aims to solve, whether buffer on, off, cpu or gpu, but as far as I've tested, the ghosting is still present. Actually I've been playing in 1x in the first place, but tried that option to reduce resolution on effects. Even with framebuffer enabled.
