Fightstick Mapping & Game Speed

Hi,
My first query is that of button mapping for my fightstick. I am using the Venom PS3/PS4 Official Fightstick. I see where the button mapping menu is, and I select the option to map a specific key, but when I press my fightstick button - as I did for ePSXe, successfully I might add - there is no response. I tested a keyboard stroke, and that registered successfully. I have looked online and found precious little in the way of help. I really cannot play fighting games via keyboard, nor pad for that matter. Any help here very much appreciated.

My second issue is game speed. More specifically when playing with the screen at full size or even one mm out from the small view at present. The speed is fine in this small display but it would be nice to increase it. What options do I have in trying to rectify this? Again, any help much appreciated.
