PPSSPP faster than epsxe?!

Hello, I'm an android retro gamer and I use some emulators like PPSSPPand epsxe. I recently updated epsxe to use opengl plugins for HD, but it horribly lags. On my phone, Tekken DR runs at about 40~60fps with full resolution with PPSSPP but Tekken 3 at ~20fps(~30fps when using 640x480 resolution).

Is this because I have done something wrong like using wrong plugin on epsxe or is it epsxe actually more demanding than PPSSPP?

Qualcomm Krait MP4 2.265GHz CPU
Qualcomm Adreno 330 450MHz GPU
2GB RAM
epsxe v1.9.33
libopenglplugin/peopsxl psx graphic plugins (similar result on both)
