We are on a local LAN network, can both connect to the AdHocPro server that I have setup locally, but then when we join the room, we can't see each other's games.

It seems you got a bit farther... and are able to see your opponents room?

Nope, no luck so far. No matter what I do I keep getting the "Connection error!" message

For doing my tests I just followed these tutorials from the web:

I recommend the first one as it's easier to set up and less prone to errors.
Also, check that all firewalls from both computers are disabled.

Let me know if you ever manage to go beyond the error message
