No he says "can be up to 50% faster" and specifically for CPU bound applications. While emulators are often CPU-bound they often don't use all cores and modern OpenGL implementations (and I assume Direct3D although I don't know) are somewhat asynchronous (with some sequence points of course).
Could you see some improvements? Yes. Will you see a magical 50% performance increase that can not be ported to DX11/OpenGL? I very much doubt it. |
