I'm glad that the new build add an option to pick Audio Backend Smile
But the sound drop problem still there... "OMG", that's the word come from my mouth as the problem hit my ear...

At least the speed drop is gone...

As probably everyone who can play in higher res noticed this game bloom looks awful and it's abused for pretty much everything including characters and pretty much whole screen in most cutscenes:]. Finally thanks to [Unknown] brilliant idea we now can deal with it using "Lower resolution for effects (reduces artifacts)" hack.
It basically detects lower buffer sizes which is used usually for bloom and other blurry effects and keeps them at x1 res. It has 3 presets because it can also potentially decrease resolution of things which aren't effects if game also uses lower buffer size for them and would make them look pixelate, however from my testing I did not noticed anything like that happening in games which had bloom, and "safe" preset should be good enough to deal with GE2.Smile

Here's a comparism of cutscene(without subs, so no spoilers:3) made in x10 res:

- one in which you can clearly notice kind of like a ghost of character and messed up edges of the screen which all is caused by bloom being too sharp in high res,

- and one with a hack which keeps the low res for effect making them appear like psp bloom without decreasing resolution for other stuff.

I don't really have to say which one looks better :]. Ofc the hack does nothing in x1 res, and in lower res like x2/x3 the difference will not be as obvious either, but still should help with making psp like bloom improving the experience in our broken game.:3
What cause this problem isnt the resolution itself, the problem is caused by buffer render, just change it to cpu or gpu buff render and it will be fixed (buffer render still have a long way to be completed).

Looks good :3

Tho wat @Black_Avassalador said was kinda right tho. cuz the graphics of GE2 on Framebuffers (CPU or GPU) seems to be right. Posted it here also few months ago Undecided Left = Buffered, Right = Framebuffers to Memory.

RE: God Eater 2
But "Read framebuffers to memory" is a hack and should not be used for playing, only for debugging, as LunaMoo and [Unknown] have already said...

RE: God Eater 2
It does, because it accidently does similar thing in this game, however aside from the fact that it was not a solution for other games with this issue, it's also glitchy, just look at this:

Read Framebuffers to memory:

Buffered Rendering + hack:

See the difference?

Yea Undecided got no problems playing this on Buffered its just that it looks more great on Framebuffers aside from the new bugs/glitches that will appear if used.

I play GE2 with gpu buffer render, and i have no problems, i didnt mean that its a fix for every game with that problem, or that it should aways be used, but that it works for me in GE2. if it may cause errors, i still didnt get one in this game.

RE: God Eater 2
Goguma, were you using v1.00 or v1.40? Here is our video from yesterday.

Many players are trying to play on coldbird without DMZ, i stood there in the lobby room with HYDRO yesterday for other players to join in but none did (although there were many online as shown in the coldbird status page), i'm guessing they did not have DMZ on or were using GE2 1.40.

What did you guys do then? Opened the ports manually or are using UPnP, or else...? I'm really curious because every game i've played with HYDRO worked and i have DMZ Host on.
Please, do tell.
