Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
I know the topic of cheating has been posted all about the place on this forum and people are likely to shout a 'closed' at me in a mo, but I have a question anyway.

In my experience with CheatEngine I've managed to manipulate values on many games, emulated (xSNES, ePSXe, etc) and standard PC. Also, I had a R4 card on my DS and could use that to manipulate values.

I know that the standard for PPSSPP is cwCheat and I have had a look for cheats for Crisis Core but I couldn't get them to work (different versions I imagine)

I have also tried to use cheat engine to manipulate Crisis Cores values, but I'm having absolutely no luck in finding any of the values.

Is this something to do with the way the emulation is done, or were the developers being sneaky in hiding the values?????

I have the EUR version. Ideally I just want to be able to change Gil, SP and maybe a God Mode for those awkward missions.

Thanks Big Grin

RE: Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
The value is not always what you see.
For example,it may show 999 Gil but this 999 to actually be hexadecimal value(2457 in dec)
It can also be calculated by using some formula.

There are also games that keep the character stats to a fixed value according to the character level and no matter how many times you try to change a value, that value will be reverted to the default value when you turn off the cheats.

There are many other things that you have to consider when searching for cheats...as I said, the value is not always what you see.

Also when you use different ppsspp version and search for codes using CE,the codes you find will almost never work on different ppsspp version because the ram(user memory)is not in fixed region like pcsx2

PS.I don't know how you search but I find the Gil address on my second try

RE: Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
I can't seem to find the gil value.
Running around sector 8 (fountain) - current Gil = 2635

if we pretend that that is a hex value, then the dec = 9781

I search for this new scan value (value type = all on CE)
I buy a potion from the shop (50), new Gil = 2585 (dec = 9605)

use next scan - 0 results....

I just want to enjoy the story more than anything so I'm trying to make it as easy a play through as possible

I feel like I'm walking in the wrong direction...

Any thoughts?

RE: Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
I'm using different program(not CE)but that doesn't matter.

This is what I do
1.Press triangle to bring the menu
2.Go to Shop and choose some random shop
3.Scan for the amount of money you have(it's 4 bytes value)
4.Buy something
5.Scan again

I find the address in two tries.
Keep in mind that depending on which screen is the active one, when you change the value in CE,it may not change in the game.Just exit the menu and enter again.

PS.The value is what you see(decimal value)

RE: Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
what is the program you are using? I know it shouldn't have any different effect but I'm having no luck with CE...

even when i do find a value that looks exactly like my value, changing it doesn't do anything

I use ArtMoney.
As I said, once you find the value and change it,in the game it won't update the value(the visual part...the value is set and you have the set amount of gil)to the value you set.You have to exit the menu and enter again to see that the number is changed.

Or if you make it to look exactly like in the picture(in buy mode),the value will be changed immediately.

PS.I always endup with two addresses and one of them is not the correct code

vsub_, guess what!?
I just downloaded ArtMoney and tried using that to search for the values and it found it immediately.
Tried using CheatEngine again and no luck.

Guess what I'm using from now on.

P.S. I love you

RE: Cheat Engine/CwCheat for crisis core
I just tried CE and it worked but you need to enable Edit=>Settings=>Scan Settings=>MEM_MAPPED:
That option is disabled by default.
