This game is very CPU and GPU intensive. You can try frameskipping it to see if can helps sound shuttering .

RE: Super Robot Wars Operation Extend
with or without frameskipping

VPS / Speed: Goes down 40-50 around those problematic Parts, the rest constant 60
FPS: Stays the same around 29.5-30.5 any part of the game

Sound Still having those static / crack / slowdown with frameskipping

This reminds me of that SRW A problems I got a few months ago, before future updates

My PC Specs

Intel Quad 6600
Nvidia GTX 280
4GB ram
Win 7 x64

RE: Super Robot Wars Operation Extend
I've had the framerate go higher than around 30~40 in a mission, and that was on the status screen of a unit. The rest of the time, the sound and the music have noticable static and crackles, even with frame skipping.

There are glitches in the battle animation, especially the background. Very often parts of the background will disappear. I've also had battle animations glitch so much that I couldn't really tell what was going on except through sound, but maybe it's because I turned on frame skipping.

On one of my attempts, during an enemy turn, the game seemingly froze. I saw the enemy move toward my unit, and then the graphics stopped updating and were stuck. Normally I would get a prompt for whether I should defend/dodge/counterattack. I hit a few buttons on my keyboard, and heard a sound as though I'd selected something, but nothing really changed onscreen.

I was using build 0.8.1.632 64bit.

In my case, checking the "unlock cpu clock" in the options didn't just solve the crackling audio, it increased the fps to around 58~60 fps everywhere.

++edit++

tested on ppsspp-v0.8.1-642-g8f84907-windows-x86 now it got a bit better

Stage 3 ---> 55 VPS on highlighting and moving the unit, 50 VPS on targeting an opponent, 49 VPS on battle fights
Stage 4 ---> 59 VPS on highlighting and moving the unit, 47-57 VPS on targeting an opponent 54-57 VPS on battle fights

compared to yesterday most of it was in the low 40s

Another thing I observed it gets slower as the game progress inside a level

and load state somehow breaks the game in some cases, when attacking the opponents, it hangs or just goes to black loading screen permanently, load state on menu cant even get you to the next level, good thing there is an autosave feature

=======================

Also I cant seem to see the cut-in for Gundam EZ-8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjZ6i4Z1xQY time 0:55-0-59 missing from PPSSPP just black screen then resumes at 1:00 of the attack

RE: Super Robot Wars Operation Extend
Maybe you need to bump the cpu clock higher?

when I unlocked the cpu the game was running fine and audio was perfect. Some more demanding attacks put the VPS down some 10-15fps. Funnily enough the more I bumped up the clock the worse the emulator ran, tho that is most likely my PC being too weak.

RE: Super Robot Wars Operation Extend
I'd like to specify, the graphic glitches I noted were because i'd left 'frame skipping' turned on. So many of them went away when I turnd off frame skipping.

I didn't change anything except that. I didn't even try to increase the frequency (it was at 222.) I'm running the build I mentioned earlier in this thread.

RE: Super Robot Wars Operation Extend
More Speed, add cutin in ppsspp-v0.8.1-653-g2633498-windows-x86

- averaging 53-60 VPS
- cut-ins are low quality at least for now
- cut-ins kinda make the game stutter for the entire clash between the 2 units then its back to normal

Thank you PPSSPP team and everyone else involved for making this more and more playable Big Grin

Dont remember any speed-related problems with SRW A, mainly it was crackling and sometimes missing sound for voices and wrong alpha mix.
