PSP CPU Frequencies changing tests (Android)
So I've been messing around with the new feature by changing the values on ppsspp.ini, be adviced that it is only possible to modify it on rooted devices.

APP used to modify the .ini:
Root Explorer (I think X-Plore would work fine too)

Game used:
Dissidia 012 - Duodecim Final Fantasy

Frequencied used (So far):
33Mhz, 66Mhz, 222Mhz, 333Mhz

Device and Config:
SGS3 Clocked@700Mhz* (Thought it was 800Mhz, my bad, should have double checked.)

So, the test took place on the land of discord, in front of a white gateway while playing with Zidane, I tried first without any lock (option disabled) and I had as result 52-55VPS and 30FPS constantly, locking it to 222Mhz gave as result the same, except the VPS wouldn't go lower from 53.6 instead of 52.1, no changes on FPS. So I decided to go down roughly taking it to 33Mhz, which gave me as result 60VPS Constatly with few spikes down to 59, but on the other hand the FPS dropped to 14-15, which resulted on it being obviously slow, tried going up a bit more then, making it 66Mhz which gave me as result 51-54VPS and 28-30FPS.

333Mhz makes no big difference either, 54VPS constantly with 30FPS.

Not so sure about this yet, might be just me but battling at 66Mhz seems slightly better than the default frequencies, would need someone to confirm it...

I'll continue to do some more tests maybe as I get some time, feel free to mess around and post your own results.

P.S. Ini file can be found under /data/data/org.ppsspp.ppsspp/files
P.S.2, Tests are really small as all I do is let the character stand in front of the gateway for a minute as I watch the FPS/VPS changes, for further testing it'd be needed to go through an actual gameplay (I think?).

-Samsung galaxy S3 International version - Android 4.4.2
-Dual Core locked CPU, Clocked at 1Ghz-1.8Ghz
-Mali 400MP4 GPU Clocked from 160Mhz to 533Mhz
-1GB ram, boo..

No, it's 800Mhz, if I make it at high freqs I won't be able to notice small details and differences.
Edit: Actually my bad, it was 700Mhz, I swear I had changed it to 800Mhz...

Makes no difference it seems... 54VPS constant and 30FPS.

I lock at 222, Dragonball Z Shin Budokai seem to run much faster than default.
Tested on 133 and 200, game getting slowdown.

Of course it can and will get slowdown below 222, the PSP's regular CPU speed is 222. Some games run fine below 222, though. Tongue

Default speed I believe for PPSSPP is 333MHz. Correct me if I'm wrong.

RE: PSP CPU Frequencies changing tests (Android)
It's 222, but games can request up to 333 or as low as something like 20, though at that point they'd be extremely choppy.. With the hack the limit disappears.

RE: PSP CPU Frequencies changing tests (Android)
Tested on Need for Speed Undercover, ideal speed is 133MHz. Run fast and stable at that setting. Higher or lower than 133 make the game slow.

RE: PSP CPU Frequencies changing tests (Android)
i'm pretty bored today,so I did some crazy cpu test, note this the cpu speed I test not exceed 50,tested on android(maybe window also benefit of this),this not the final result(couse there's hundred more test to try),i just put some of the improve games(some get worse).

let's start:

test:naruto impact
--locking cpu to 30 absolutely improve it mostly when fighting many enemy, also when swap jump it does'nt lag badly(nice),no bug discovered using this method(window also gain benefit from it)

monster hunter fu:
----lock to 40-45 seem it gain some speed, but the fps is 20,which I think the games pretty slow conpared to it's speed, but if enable frameskip games got full speed but get a never ending frameskip(not recomended but it pretty much playable)

god of war chain of olympus:
----this is well locking the frequencies to 60 does improve it,but I discovered set it to 20-30 does give same result as 60,not recomended for window, only android.

dragonball shin budokai:
-----i don't know if it play like actual psp or not,but I locked it to 20,the speed does improve, also the fps did'nt drop much, but it look like little slow.pretty playable, frameskip will make the screen blinking.

crisis core.final fantasy 7:
-----,hmm only android benefit from this,i locked it to 10 seem like the heavy cutscenes look faster, pretty much the battle with many people does'nt lag much.

I also tested on some other games, the speed some got improve, some just get slower which I only set from 10-50.60 does'nt help with other games.

this is just simple solution right now,the speed in the emulator will gain slowly,so keep support ppssppSmile

my sub weapon:
xperia mini hd
1ghz scorpion
single core
not clocked

my ultimate weapon
acer(laptop)
2.2ghz ?core
intel media accelarator 3000

i'm a tester,but not as good as other,please be kind with me,haha.
