Input lag in PPSSPP
So far, on every build I've tested (intermittent downloads of new builds ranging from June 16th to now), there's input lag between when I press a button (keyboard or gamepad, tried both) and when the game registers it.

This is on an android (Galaxy note II, CM10.1, overclocked),
windows (12 GB ram, windows 8 64bit, quadcore 3.4 GHZ)
and a mac as well (10.8.3, 16 GB ram, wineskin and sdl port).

This happens regardless of games I've tested, and really hurts in rhythm based games.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this, thanks.

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
Both patapon 1 and 2.

I was worried at first that it was a problem on my end, but I pulled out the half-broken PSP and played it, no lag.
Other noted things: The lag is constant. I *can* play it, but as the game counts 1 2 3 4, I have to hit it somewhere between a sixteenth and eight note early. Sorry if there is a double post/ error, phone messing up displaying a half-mobile half-desktop site.

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
This is probably a combination of sound lag and input lag. Sound lag has always been really bad on Android but has been getting better on especially Nexus devices lately.

There are some improvements that can be done to touch screen input lag, look forward to possibly seeing a small lag reduction in 0.9 Tongue

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
It is very difficult for me to keep fever in Patapon 1. But in Papapon 2 it is quite easy. Is this a bug for Patapon 1?

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
So, is there any way I can get the game running normal, or should I stick to a psp?
Also, I'm confused about the sound lag: the visuals and sound are synced pretty well. If you haven't played the game, it shows a pulsing border on the beat, and it and the music work like on the PSP. Thanks.

For Patapon 1, it is difficult for me. But I don't know why you have a problem for Patapon 2. It's very easy. Do you only have the problem on Android?

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
No, this problem appears on every system. Could just be a bad dump.

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
I have no idea. Maybe if you keep trying, you will be able to do it. At first, I couldn't keep fever in Patapon 1. But after trying for quite a long time I can do it but it's still not easy.

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
Ehh, just gonna wait it out or play on the old psp. Going from 18 perfect measures in a row to not keeping fever is a super hard change. Hope this gets fixed in a later update.

RE: Input lag in PPSSPP
Surprisingly does not affect the Project Diva games in my experience.

Diva 2nd has close to perfect timing with the inputs and the audio on my ancient rig. It's quite easy to do well in that game.

I will agree with the first Patapon. It's very difficult maintain Fever in Patapon 1 on PPSSPP. Very difficult.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Are you using frameskipping? I believe PPSSPP only collects input once per frame, and if the frame is skipped it won't be recieved. If Patapon 1 only renders 30 frames per second and Patapon 2 renders 60 then that could explain why one is easy while the other isn't.

I don't use frame skipping.
