This error is caused by improper installation of the Visual C runtime

Open up programs and features and screenshot the version number of the Visual C++ 2010 redistributable entries.

RE: PPSSPP x64 build on Windows 7 64bit - not working
As far as i can tell, that is the version number corresponding with the SP1 redist, so its the latest.

Still odd.....

Run a file search on the system and ensure that MSVCP10 and MSVCR10 are inside the windows\system folders and not placed at the root of the hdd,

Dll's are searched in order of Local Directory, Drive Root and then System32(SysWow64)

I only got MSVCP100 and MSVCR100 files... any download link for the ones you posted above

Those are correct, i just posted a relevant search term.

Have you got TeamViewer installed, this can cause similar errors.

No TeamViewer

If MSVCP100 and MSVCR100 are correct, what might be the cause?

RE: PPSSPP x64 build on Windows 7 64bit - not working
bugger, i missed that c at the start of the error message

0x7b application error is because of misconfigured runtime

Error code 0xc000007b on the other hand, means INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT, I don't know why this would occur when both the OS and application are 64bit though, unless the EXE is actually corrupt.

Edit
Apparently it is known to occur on some Nvidia optimus notebooks when the user isn't forcing the game/app to use the nvidia graphics chip, as a result of the intel gfx drivers being old and buggy.

And ftr, you do have the latest DirectX Redistributable installed?

RE: PPSSPP x64 build on Windows 7 64bit - not working
Its not going to resolve itself in a new version, something specifically in your configuration is causing the issue, Most likely at some point it is loading a 32bit runtime which is not compatible with 64bit executables.

What needs to be figured out is what file,

you can use sysinternals process monitor to determine what file trips up the error, if you feel you aren't up for it, i'm available with teamviewer for the next few hours.
