This news really hurts, this guy was a cofounder of the immersive Oculus Rift project, so sad that he died as an innocent victim of a police chase gone wrong Sad

No, there was a chase between criminals (in a Dodge Charger™) and the police, and from what I've read looks like the criminals *somehow* managed to ran over him. Try to read it again properly.
