v1.0 Ubuntu 14.04, game saves no longer load.
Not sure is this is the place to make a thread such as this Confused

Not long ago I decided to take my "SAVEDATA" from my windows OS to my Linux OS(Ubuntu 14.04) since I get better performance out of ppsspp then on windows mainly on MH3, now doing this process before my game saves loaded fine, but today for some reason none of the games read the "SAVEDATA" heck v1.0 no longer reads the CWCheat .ini's anymore either, when I try to save a game sometimes it saves, sometimes it states the memstick is full, and sometimes I get a psp error.

Not sure what happend, I even deleted everything ppsspp related on Ubuntu and started fresh but it refuses to read game saves. I tried using the search button in the forum to see if this has been stated before, either it hasn't or I'm not labeling my search criteria correctly. If anyone could point me in the right direction on how to make it register my save files again I'd be thankful. Smile

Where do you put your "SAVEDATA" and did you just try to save a game and see if it actuallly saves to the folder where you are copying your old saves to?

Yes I deleted the old folder and made a new save, located the folder seen the save and loaded the save, then placed my savedata in it once more, still does not load the saves Confused

Well in Ubuntu 14.04, the "PSP" folder is located in z:/home/aesthetics/.config/ppsspp/PSP/SAVEDATA, unlike windows having a folder that says memstick ppsspp doesnt even read it in the Ubuntu version. The same way I stated it is the way they loaded before, I also made the "memstick" folder just to see and it does not save to it rather it saves it like I stated above.

Ok, so did you make sure that the access rights for the files are right? Also, do you not see the saves in ppsspp or are they listed and loading fails? If the loading fails, then what does the log say about it?

Not sure about the access rights for the files, or how to do it, I use gksu nautilus to be able to access the .config folder.

No ppsspp doesn't even show the save files, it says savedata: 0.00MB

ok, if you copy files why using gksu then the new files will have the super user as the owner and will most likely not be accessible by the user.

You should change the owner to be the user whose home folder it is

There is only one user on this os as is the windows os, that is me, and only me... but I see what you mean, I will try and figure out how to do this and try my best. Thank you I think if I can do it, it should solve my issue, thank you again. Smile

even if you have formally only one normal user, the super user (aka root) will always exist, even if he doesn't have his own login.

Just do "ls -l" in the folder and see who the owner is
