RE: PPSSPP win8
The windows versions run perfectly normal under windows 8.

Are you talking about Win8RT? If so, then no, there's no WinRT version.

RE: PPSSPP win8
do you have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 runtime installed for the version of PPSSPP you are using (if you have 64 bit OS you can just isntall both 32 and 64 bit)?

Also, if you are trying to start PPSSPP64, do you actually have a 64-bit OS installed?

RE: PPSSPP win8
if you're have a 64 bit OS then the 32-bit DLLs are in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (don't ask why, it's just microsoft being microsoft)

RE: PPSSPP win8
Uninstall and reinstall both the 64-bit and 32-bit 2013 runtimes. Some popular software seems to be screwing up one of them as this seems to be a fairly common issue.

A future version of PPSSPP will remove the depencency on these so the problem will disappear then.
