RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
I've noticed on the arm build for android most 2D games are harder to get to run moreso than the 3D ones. Have you all tried buffered with anti turned on and set to 16 on my mytouch4g slide it forces the load. Make sure to reload entire emulator after making changes in the android version though, they have a tendancy to do nothing otherwise, lol.

I've tried it on PC. It doesn't work. I don't have a smartphone to test.

Exclamation RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
(07-25-2013 09:42 PM)Agamemnon Wrote:  I was fooling around with the Disassembly-thing... and I got the game running... past the 3rd battle! Unfortunately, I have been completely unable to reproduce the result. I was able to make a new save game, (I should have made a save-state! WTF was I thinking?!) but it doesn't work. When I load it just sends me to the same, endless black-screen. Confused

I was playing around with all kinds of settings, so I'm not sure how I was set up. The last thing I did was turn off "Ignore Illegal Reads/Writes". I hit "go" in the Disassembly, and it loaded up... FAST. Big Grin

I *think* I altered the following:
VBO = on
Read Framebuffers to Memory (GPU) = on

I'm not entirely sure because after I got it to work, I reset the emulator. I tried to load the new save, and it failed. The whole thing locked-up at that point. When I re-started the emulator, my options were all reset. Angry

My guess is that I was able to skip a certain part of the code that's causing the problem. I tried to play around and remember where I was at, but I have no idea. Nor do I remember the exact settings. I just hope something can be gained from this info. (Though I imagine it's not very useful.) Sad

Edit: I turned on the VBO while it was paused on an illegal memory read. When I resumed, it IMMEDIATELY went to the audio-loop-error. It also inserted this:
idle0 I[HLE]: GLES\Framebuffer.cpp:1116 Drawing the framebuffer <04000000>
idle0 E[HLE]: c:\buildagent\work\acf56f986e98e7c9\core\hle\sceKernel.h:446 Kernel: Bad object handle 0 <00000000>
idle0 E[HLE]: c:\buildagent\work\acf56f986e98e7c9\core\hle\sceKernel.h:446 Kernel: Bad object handle 0 <00000000>
idle0 E[HLE]: HLE\sceKernelEventFlag.cpp:370 sceKernelClearEventFlag<0, fffffffe> - error

Vista32 0.8.1-716e

Oh my vibro God, man your trick with "disassembly" and "ignore illegal reads/writes" work, i don't understand how but i use it. After the death of Ramza's father a black screen pop up with the sceAudio error in the log console. But i made a savestate juste before the cutscene. I retry with the trick and i pass the black screen. But i have not managed to reproduce the same result after the third battle, but it's still very interesting. I tried different version of ppsspp and I had interesting results without success. What a pity. Congratulations anyway.

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
mine got working tested on PPSSPP 0.81 regular and Gold, but the game itself still have lot of problem in game.

Like sound cracking, FPS totally drop when goes to loading (transitition to other map/ place) and while casting spell.

but the graphics are really perfect and i havent found any graphical glitch so far.

note: tested on PPSSPP PC version

How far did you get? There's a lot of people that play FFT once, come to the forums, register, make one post without reading the thread and proclaim this game to be working.

...Because everyone else using PPSSPP cannot advance past the 3rd battle.

im still on the 2nd battle actually, but geez, it doesnt mean that i proclaim the game itself to be 100% working. I just state that the game still have some issues especially the sound cracking and slow down during the part that i mentioned before....

i wouldn't bother to proceed to the next level because those issues really distract me. Just sayin..

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
The FPS dropping while casting spells isn't a glitch/bug in PPSSPP. It's how the game was designed. Blame Square Enix for a poor port. There are some patches that can fix it, but I don't know if they work in PPSSPP. It slows down on a real PSP/Vita without said patch.

The patch work very well with PPSSPP. They are no FPS problems at all.

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
i just found that using texture scaling worsen the slowdown during spellcasting etc, and it couldn't help even tough patch already applied....

But yeah the patch does work and all spell seems to be much faster.
