Question: if you get into the game somewhat, and then savestate, does the flicking change or go away?

Does toggling any settings such as hardware transform or buffered rendering off and on change anything? Or even frameskip? Try holding e.g. tab while it's toggled for a little bit before switching back.

This'll tell if it's a caching issue.

ill try in a bit,i think the same problem was on JPCSP too

screen flickering remains,tried frameskip-TAB-BR on off-fast memory on off and had one crash with savestate and load.

Yes and crashes when you quick save(not with first time,you must try 4-5 times and crashes after),same flickering with android too
heres the issue from hyakki of jpcsp : BGM Audio might develop some slight distortion overtime (barely noticeable),
"Enable saving GE screen to Textures instead of Memory" must be Unchecked to stop flickering in the graphics.

On Galaxy Note android version 4.2.2 with PPSSPP version 0.7.6-15. Anyone find out settings or a fix to the screen flickering? Any other errors? Love this game and was hoping what the status was on it.

playing on windows 8 64bit, emu v0.8.1-255-g4f2c728, other than the insane flickering.. this game seems to be running perfectly...atleast from what i can tell..i wish someone could figure out how to fix that flickering

Here with Buffer Rendering it's going from 1.0 to 2.04 VPS. If I turn it off as prompted before it just shows a blank screen (except for when the Capcom screen shows up). Turning on/off any of the other video options yelds no results except perhaps it runs up to 4 VPS.
Tried on Windows XP 32bit with v0.8.1

My screen keeps flickering if buffered rendering is on and blank screen if its off. I am using the latest version of the Windows ppsspp on a windows 7 pro system.

You mean 0.8.1 or the latest build? If not try the latter from the bottom of the PPSSPP downloads page.
Here it does flicker as well on my Android and is generally slow, I can't run it at all with buffered rendering (slow PC). I have yet to use the latest build with some more modes for the buffered rendering though.

It's flickering in the latest builds regardless of GPU or platform, or framebuffer mode. It's a separate issue.

I have come to deliver some good news.
I have figured a way to work around the flickering in the later gits thanks to a revision to the frameskip funktion.
It seems that exactly every other frame is corrupted, im not entirely sure if the game is corrupted every other frame or if the game is feed with an extra frame.
I wold love if someone more dedicated than me could check it out and then report the issue, since it could lead to an actual fix rather than just a workaround.
The workaround is simply as following:
enable frameskip
set frameskip to 1
(p.s. you might have to redo it a couple of time so that it skips the frames the are corrupted and not the working ones.)

If you know how to make your own builds, you can edit the source code such that you comment out or remove lines 197-207 in OpenGL's texturecache.cpp, then enable Read FBO to Memory(CPU) or (GPU), the game won't flicker anymore(yes, even with no frameskipping). We're still looking into how to come up with a proper fix though, so you won't see this little hack as an official fix. Tongue

Also, I wouldn't use such a build as a daily driver; it'll probably cause issues in other games.
