Cross/Analog keys toggled with LShift/LAlt combination
Hello, first off, thanks for this super performance psp emulator.
I have a question regarding L-Shift and L-Alt key combinations. I'm trying to set up Monster Hunter 2nd G (running JP version), imitating Monster Hunter Frontier Online's (PC version) keyboard controls. The problem is, if I hold down the LShift key and input analog keys, cross key(s) of the corresponding analog direction is toggled on (stuck) and left pressed until I hit the cross key. So... I discoverted these things - L-Shift toggles cross keys when analogs are pressed down. Doesn't do anything when pressed with cross keys. - L-Alt toggles cross keys when cross keys are pressed, toggles analog keys when analog keys are pressed. This LShift is key is kind of crucial to my keyboard setting. Is this a keyboard hardware issue, or PPSSPP feature? If this is an intended feature, is there any way to change this behavior? - so that I can send the toggle keys away to somewhere I'll never hit? |

RE: Cross/Analog keys toggled with LShift/LAlt combination
Here - you can find explanation of the issue.
And for example here you can test your keyboard against it. Basically it's your keyboard problem, most keyboards on the market are affected by this althrough different combinations are affected on different keyboards(hence the test demo I linked above). It's design limitation and you can't really "fix" it other than remapping your keys to a different ones that work with each other. That's also why people on most emulation forums keep telling people who has only keyboard to buy and use a controller designed for games, like a gamepad, since even cheap gamepad is free of such issues. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: Cross/Analog keys toggled with LShift/LAlt combination
Thanks much for the quick answer. Indeed my keyboad has that ghosting problem with Lshift and numpad keys. I do have a gamepad, I just like the PC version keyboard controls more than gamepad controls and its weird grip.
It's funny that my keyboard was advertised being the "gaming keyboard" and "free of ghosting". Now that I read my keyboard box again, it actually reads "anti-ghosting around WASD"... pity. But thanks again for clarifying the problem. |

RE: Cross/Analog keys toggled with LShift/LAlt combination
Yeah most people who say keyboard is "best" are playing FPS or RTS games and those do use wsad keys and around, hence "gaming keyboards" who favour those have limitations in normally working combinations.
The only keyboards actually free of ghosting are mechanical or maybe some other very expensive ones. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |
