Gensou Suikoden I & II
Title: Gensou Suikoden I & II
Tested on: v0.7.6-1323-gbcdf6e1
Genre: RPG
Region: JP
Format: ISO
Game ID: ULJM05086
OS: Windows XP
Compatibility: In-game (video and music work)
Notes: It is a fully 2D game. It is a port of PS1 games.

The disc contains 2 games, Suikoden 1 and 2 and both do not work.
In Suikoden 1, the emulator is closed by Windows after the meeting with the emperor.
In Suikoden 2, the game freezes at a black screen after the first battle.

The graphics are always darker than normal since the screen with Konami logo, which is light-gray instead of white. The exception are the videos, they have normal brightness.

The transparency does not work in all animated sprites, it is black. This problem can be seen in the flames and in battle animations.

The background of the menu should be transparent instead of black. In v0.8.1-41, it is transparent if we enable FramebuffersToMem.

RE: Gensou Suikoden I & II
Apparently some recent changes affected this game, and may have improves its graphics. But they may also have made it slow. How does it look now?

Wink RE: Gensou Suikoden I & II
sorry for necro'ing but i saw the game has its own thread and i thought i'd add on to it. i've only dipped into the suikoden 2 portion of the game for a few second saw some issues figured i'd screen compare, the left side is ppsspp, the right side is my psp via capture~ the title screen has a black background, the loadmenu is missing a letter (not sure if thats my end or not) and its darker, and the last one is when i open the menu the rest of the screen goes black cept the menu. i hope this helps and sorry if its already been resolved and im just necro'ing for no reason~

RE: Gensou Suikoden I & II
That's weird. Can you try a few builds in between? Just try one half way and then if that works, try half less. A couple tries and you'll narrow it down. What I want to see is the first one that stopped working and the last one that did work.

RE: Gensou Suikoden I & II
just saw your post, sure ill try that ^_^ ill repost my findings

ok actually ...i take back my earlier statement, i made a new folder and tested from v0.9.9.1-937-g473f388 all the way to v0.9.9.1-969-g804de50 and they all worked ....apparently it was something with the settings (i reset settings to default on my original)...allthough im not sure what it was since i dont remember touching any of the settings cept for remapping the controls... how odd. if i figure out what setting it was ill let you know.

RE: Gensou Suikoden I & II
Yeah, we fixed it by simulating the block transfers the game tries to do. Turning it off will make things a bit faster, but at the price of worse graphics.
