Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Hey all, first post and I'm here to ask a question. I am playing MHFU for my first time and I have run into a problem at the character creation screen! I am trying to input a nickname for my hunter and it won't allow me to type with my keyboard and the PSP type-promt won't pop up. Could anyone help me out, thanks for your time in advance.

Nvm, I'm A HUGE RETARD, I forgot to put a name at the top. I kept hitting "confirm" instead of "name".
