Install this and lower the resolution of your device (for me, i set to PSP native resolution for my JXD S7800. Ive just done a quick test on Ridge Racer 2 At standard device resolution of 1280x800 Buffered Rendering @ PSPx1 = Framerate going round the track is between 50-60FPS, slowing down to 30-40 in busy areas Non Buffered Rendering (1280x800) - Framerate around the 15-20FPS mark, pretty constant around the track At Resolution 640x400 (Set by NoMone App) Buffered Rendering @ PSPx1 = Framerate going round the track is between 55-60FPS, slowing down to 45-50 in busy areas Non Buffered Rendering (640x400) - Framerate a solid 60FPS without waiver (as shown on video) Basically, this app allows you to use non buffered rendering at a lower resolution than native to the tablet (obviously only on games that work without problems on this setting. But out of the 20 or so I've tried, only Daxter gave me issues). The ones Ive tried in the 3 Ys games, Gurumin, Ape Escape, Crimson Gem Saga, Darius Burst, FF Crisis Core, Hot Shots Golf 2, Kingdom Hearts, Locoroco, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Persona 3, Prinny 1 and 2, Wipeout Pure all work flawlessly at full speed. Something I could never do previously in non buffered rendering as the native res of the screen was too high for the rest of the device to cope with. I've also tried it with success on my Xperia Z. Running PSP games in 1920x1080 is a joke really. Because as nice as the screen is, the innards of the Xperia Z just cannot really play games in that resolution without choking. Its not powerful enough. TL;DR - Running a game in non buffered at the same resolution as buffered offers way better performance. But PPSSPP does not give you the option of playing non buffered in anything other than device native res, which is normally too high to get playable framerates on mid-lower hardware. This gives you the option of maximising performance whilst keeping semi decent picture quality. |

Any suggestions Try disabling fast memory for that section. Also disable any and all Hacks. Does that help? You can also upload your savedata/save state here so we can take a look at it to figure out the solution. You should really just ask around in the thread for the game itself though, this is more of a generalized performance thread and not a game specific thread so you won't get many answers for any game issues here. It's not a miracle cure-all, and mostly depends on the games you're attempting to run on your device. Every one of them has different requirements; some are heavier than others, and so on. RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
I felt so dumb. I recently just switched from Galaxy S4 to S5 and was wondering why the hell was it so laggy to the point of unplayable. I struggled for the whole week, tweaking settings here and there. It's not limited to PPSSPP also, a lot of apps were laggign hard.
Turn out... all I needed to do was turned Force GPU Rendering on at the phone's Developer Option. GPU Rendering wasn't default on T-Mobile S5. Jesus, lol. Now it's consistently 30-60 fps. |

RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
The guide has been updated to reflect the change in the "Low Quality Beziers/Splines" option which now includes Low, Medium and High choices since v0.9.8-611-gfcaaede.
Screenshots demonstrating the options here. RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
Hi! I'm using Android 4.11 JellyBean, Ouya to be exact. I have friend with and Android with the same OS, and he's having the same issue. We've been having problems with the video rendering. I currently use 0.9.8611 because it's the latest build where the video rendering still works. Anything passed it it is all messed.
Here is a video showcasing the differences. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlL8mfAHc...ANjs9wj_Zg The working video one is 0.9.8611, the other one is 0.9.8695 This should explain it all. I think you guys changed the video rendering system after 0.9.8611, cuz I tried 0.9.8619, and it's video was messed up as well. So, it was either 0.9.8619, or one inbetween the two. I do admit, the newer vesrion does technically run better, but how can it be enjoyed if the video doesn't work properly? |
