First one is definitely better, although the subtitle font doesn't fit that well..

they are both good, but I think the first would be better if it had the gradient backwards, the black on the top going down to grey, sorta like ps2's logo
Oh also, the font is pixely, you should use something better or font smoothing.

I had already made an inverted version of it but decided it would be pointless to show because of the whiteish background, but...

EDIT: I think it's better to create a mascot for PPSSPP, because PPSSPP is too long!

I got a ppsspp logo idea, gonna work on it right now

I made some quick logo tests with the ps2 font and here are the results.
I started by typing PpSsPp with the font and I got this:

but I thought it was too large, so I made some smaller versions:

and

but I still thought the logo was too large, so I made the small letters smaller and I got this as result (My fav one):

What one you think is best as concept?

Am I the only one that thinks the second logo of the first post looks good ? It keeps that PlayStation look. The first isn't bad but looks so thick and the gradient is so extreme.

I agree, that's actually the first one I did, but I felt it was a bit too thin.

pehaps this could be the middle ground?

I think we should make something kinda like the PCSX2 logo, they used the System Configuration screen of the PS2 with that cool design and it looks really good. Maybe we could incorporate a UMD sign? Or something from the XMB?

what about interface being like psp/ps3's style? Obviously there would be a way to put classic style with image related.

Maybe something with this? I just took a screenshot from my PSP using the prxshot plugin. Maybe add "PPSSPP" on top?
