I saw a post on reddit linking to here about now being able to play multiplayer on the Emulator of the PSP For monster hunter.
I have always played alone and now can finally get my friends to play with me.... if i can get it working.

**Some of my information:**
Game: MHFU

PPSSPP version: 9.6 ([the latest version](http://www.ppsspp.org/))

downloaded Hamachi made a network and have an ipv4 of 25.34.213.--- last numbers ill keep to myself, just using as an example

I have the Adhoc server

I put all of these in a folder
loaded up PPSSPP turned on the WLAN option closed it
went through this path
*ppsspp>memstick>psp>system>ppsspp.ini*

I use Ctrl F and search Mac hit enter twice
above the Mac ID there is adhoc server
I copied the ipv4 listed above ( the correct one obviously)
put it in the Adhoc server feild in place of the standard.
I personally left the Mac ID alone
saved the file.

Now here is where from everything I have read online (reddit posts/PPSSPP support pages/google searches/tried to see if youtube had better explanations ) tells me that is should be working fine.

I load up the game ( even was able to get my psp save file of 300+ hours working perfectly on my computer) loaded up Adhoc server

It reads
**"listening for connections on tcp port 27312"**

getting into the game load the profile and then go into my house to go to the option to "fast travel" basically to go to -Online Gathering Hall- (ive gone the normal way too this is just the fastest to try to test over and over after having thought of new ways to try it)

The game will then proceed to sit there until i either close it
or I go into settings and deselect the WLan option

*Adhoc reads*

Now First off, this is just me trying to connect to my own set up no one else. When i try with them they dont get anywhere either. ( when I do try to get them to work, I do it correctly giving them my IPv4 from tamachi, and they change their mac id's)

I tried a few different things to try to resolve this issue.
I tried to get my friends better computer to make a tamachi network
and all of us copied his IPv4 into the ppsspp.ini and made sure to save and go back to make sure nothing changed after the emulator started.

I get the same issue my character stands there unless i do one of those two things and the Adhoc program on my friends computer says the same thing as mine does.

I've tried this on my Wifi as well as his. we have tried me alone, my friend alone three different computers running as host and anywhere from 1-4 of us attempting to enter the online room at once.

I read in the ppsspp forums that you could just use adhoc server and your computers Ip address to do it locally? I tried to do this (it never mentions using hamachi and was a completely different post from the one that was mentioned in the reddit post i linked to above.

this just has the game say " a communications error has occurred"

basically stating that there is no connection?

last thing ive tried is to erase all the files downloaded and go step by step how the instructions go, slowly as to not miss anything and making it as clean as possible to try not to screw anything up and make it easy to go back if i did think i misplaced information or something. Still no good




So the big question is, does anyone know what could be wrong?
any suggestions? The Help is greatly appreciated and I know its a lot of information but i was trying to get everything i have done and every bit of information i could think of that could be needed

Ping your friend on hamachi! if you dont get a connection tell them to turn off their firewall and turn off your too. If Hamachi doesnt work try Evolve! https://www.evolvehq.com/

Like i said earlier, a lot of this wont work when im on my own trying to get in the online room.

Figured it out!

i had my mac address as 01.02.03.04.05.06
instead of 01:02:03:04:05:06
so wrong format was the issue, i finally found this in a post on this forum!

Hello guys!!

A friend and I are playing MHFU using Tunngle. I can host perfectly and using the 25% trick, it works. The thing is, we need to get his rank up, but he can't host a mission. We tried 5-10-15%, still can't. His ping is ~90 and we have all ports needed for Tunggle and for the AdhocServer. We thought he needed to host the VPN, so he made the VPN in Tunggle and I connected to it. He can get in his server, but I can't even get in the Gathering Hall. That is the problem, we need a solution for him to host the urgent missions, and those are the things we tried. I think the problem is I can send him some data that he can't send my way. Can somebody help us? (Thanks in advance).

I'm so happy to be able to play monster hunter. Me and My bro used to played the original on PS2. We would love if some could join our hamachi so we could play with them. Its me and my 2 bros. Trying to get some to play 4 or maybe 2x2.
