CPU stay at 1190 MHz at Nexus 5?
I have notice a very strange fact playing with Tekken 6 with Nexus5 (frameskip auto).
At start, I got a full speed about 15/60 (95%) and after 2 rounds, it decreases to 8/60 (68%)... And when I check CPU, it is lock at 1190 MHz, not 2265 Mhz at start. I have try to use setcpu to lock the CPU perfomance (2265 Mhz min and MAx and governor perfomance) but it doesn´t work. And I only notice this perfomance down at Tekken6, I usualy play Dragon Ball Tag tournament, Naruto Shippuden ultimate ninja impact, PES 2013 and they are great, and it runs 100% without frameskip. Thanks a lot and this is a best emulador ever.... PS: I´m always using the last version of automated builds. |

If you wanna do something like that you have to root your phone and use special app to set your default clock MHZ to the one you desire read guides about that.
O hai! Testing everything Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE Android 4.3 O bai! Did you witness my power? |

My phone is rooted and I use setcpu to get a little more perfomance... Strange that S800 doesn´t obey SetCpu very much... I can set but after some time it change to lower Mhz... |

Oh yeah overthrootle thats nothing new in NEXUS 4 and 5 i usually like to spend more on something that doesnt have such problems while usage so more you play/use your phone more the performance goes down :/ simply sell that shit and get Samsung S4
About solution id higherly recommend selling that phone cause the main problem of your phone is Snapdragon and with that you can't do anything beside trading your N5 for S4 belive me it's better choice . O hai! Testing everything Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE Android 4.3 O bai! Did you witness my power? |

I have S4, and even with thermal throttling, Nexus 5 is faster than S4 (octa version).

RE: CPU stay at 1190 MHz at Nexus 5?
Um idk if you know the difference betwean Branded stuff in phones Nexus phones arent stuffed with any branded shits thats why performance might feel better Samsung upload loads of stuff that works in background which can be disabled in developer menu (what makes them work likr thunder) next thing about N5 is it runs on the most fastest ,compatible version of android of all times . If you are an android fan you know that Kit Kat was designed to work faster and better with lower ram/cpu usage (since KK uses only half of that needed in JB) but as a person whi know everything i don't need to tell you this stuff just wait till S4 will get Kit Kat . Galaxy S4 Octa doesn't run well PPSSPP, run even worse than S3 and Note 2. I think that Kit Kat doesn't make so much difference running games.. It is lighter and smooth OS than jelly bean but I didn't found difference running the apps.

RE: CPU stay at 1190 MHz at Nexus 5?
I kind get a way to play tekken 6 without a drastic perfomance down.
I use setcpu to set 1190 as min and max with performance governor when turn on PPSSPP (setcpu profiles). I set PPSSPP with 3 auto frameskip. It doesn´t get a full speed but it gets about 70%to 80% and 10 to 15 fps (depending stage and charaters). This is the best way that I found to play tekken 6 without the huge perfomance down, from almost 100% to 65%. |

RE: CPU stay at 1190 MHz at Nexus 5?
I have a new way to trick nexus 5 thermal throttling playing tekken 6.
You need a rooted nexus 5 to use a setcpu. Set a new profile at setcup using app PPSSPP as trigger. Than set CPU speed wanted (I set 1958 max 1190 min with performance governor). Make sure that profile works when you turn on PPSSPP. Then, play Tekken 6 normaly, I use auto frameskip 3. It will run with 100%... When it start to lose perfomance, change to another app (any app that is on multitasky list) wait to setcpu turn off the profile, then enter to ppsspp again... It will be locked at cpu speed that you set even with thermal throttling... I have played for an hour without perfomance loss. |
