RE: Final Fantasy II
Works fine here. Does it help if you rename your PPSSPP.ini to PPSSPP-old.ini, or delete it so PPSSPP is forced to use fresh settings?

RE: Final Fantasy II
Okay, can you give us a few more details, then?
1. What's the region of the game you're using? If you don't know, can you tell us the game ID? It shows up in the window title as the first thing before the game's actual title, and after the PPSSPP version info. 2. I'm not sure if this is relevant yet, but what sort of GPU do you have? 4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux How to ask useful questions: https://web.archive.org/web/20110214010944/http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 I'm not Dark_Alex, nor do I claim to be. RE: Final Fantasy II
With the European version of FF2 and 0.9.6-r209 the opening video played smoothly and I could continue on to start the game.
I only use PPSSPP on Windows. Intel Core i3 1.9GHz | 4GB RAM | Integrated Intel HD 4400 | Windows 8.1 x64 |

RE: Final Fantasy II
I'm having the worst time of my life trying to get this game to run. On the one hand there's the audio crackle and fuzziness that pops up a lot and isn't too intruding but just sounds unenjoyable I've also got horrendous slowdown in the first town, and I'm assuming other towns, so I haven't really played further (speed is around 10-15 fps).
Playing the European version on 0.9.6-312-ga59aee6 I'm really curious as to how people have configured this game to run smoothly, because no matter the settings I apply, nothing seems to make it any better than running with those two aforementioned issues |

RE: Final Fantasy II
This game is incredibly demanding on graphics cards currently. You probably won't have much luck on mobile yet, unfortunately...

RE: Final Fantasy II
Oh boy. I got near the end of the game, when you confront the Dark Knight at Castle Palamecia, and it decided to freeze right after he asks how many lives the rebels threw away for opposing the Empire.
If this doesn't get fixed soon, I could just watch a video of the rest, but I'd really like to do it on my own after getting this far. |

RE: Final Fantasy II
Can you upload a save or savestate somewhere close to there to make testing easier?
Can you post a log (on Windows, just open "Log.bat") of that happening? -[Unknown] |

Err, I meant run the log and upload the log file it produces. But I'll try the savestate.

I tried it, but all it opened was a command prompt and the emulator itself. I do get a repeating bad value error in my log console, though. RE: Final Fantasy II
I think something is returning SCE_KERNEL_ERROR_ERRNO_INVALID_FILE_SIZE when it shouldn't be. I was able to fix it by forcing that off, hmm. I must've gotten 0x01f100a6 wrong in my testing. Arg.
Ah. I see it. Will be fixed soon, but that savestate may be broken since it was saved with a bug (https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/pull/5186.) -[Unknown] |

I'm happy that you found the problem and that it can be fixed. |

RE: Final Fantasy II
Yeah, it works. After that text prompt, the screen shakes and The Emperor appears. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it!
