is this tablet good for ppsspp?
I'm planning to buy this tablet for 130 euro.
http://www.e-germanos.gr/e-germanos/prod...anner=9639 it has a quad core a7 1.2 ghz and 1gb ram how will psp games play on it? I'm mostly looking into playing jrpg or visual novel kind of games that don't feature many flashy lights(so no tekken or wipeout or anything) thanks in advance! EDIT: this tablet features a dual core a9 at 1.6ghz with 1 gb ram. http://www.public.gr/product/tablets/sys...4360445pp/ maybe it performs better than the other one? |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
Surely the last one is better. The Cortex A7 processor is a bit slower, and the Cortex A9 is the 2nd most fast (the 1st is the Cortex A15). And 1.6Ghz is surely better than 1.2Ghz. But I didn't find the GPU, the most important thing in a device for gaming. Probably is a Mali 400 or a PowerVR, which are excelent GPUs.
Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636) PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
which one of the two would be best in general usage overall?
I'd have thought that the 4 core one would be best. what kind of performance can I expect from both those tablets in games like persona 3 or final fantasy tactics and games like that? A NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS! http://www.kotsovolos.gr/site/computing/...ro-a7720-7 dual core a9 1.5ghz with 512mb ram how about this one? |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
The experts says a Cortex A9 dual core is better than a Cortex A7 quad core. I think only few games uses 4 cores, the PPSSPP for example uses 2 if enable the Multithread. I recommend 1Gb instead 512Mb, is better for gaming. I don't know how will be the performance in these games, but I think will be very good. My phone is just Cortex A9 1.2Ghz Dual Core and 1Gb, but I get good speed in most games.

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
Right, a quad core won't add any benefit to PPSSPP over a dual core, except if you're using the software renderer for the GPU, instead of OpenGL. CPU clock speed/instruction throughput matters to PPSSPP more than the number of cores.

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
a9 will always be better for gaming in general.. to get the same performance out of an a7, you would need to overclock drastically.
ie: a9 is nearly twice as fast in benchmarks.. 1.5/2 GHz a7 is about 1ghz a9.. if that makes sense 600 MHz a9 is about 1ghz a7, give or take.. I'm trying to get to the point.. to get the same performance out of a 1ghz a9 CPU with an a7, you would need a major overclock. Edit: to some up go for the a9 lol S TO DA G |

Between the three tablets, I'd choose the second.

http://www.praktiker.gr/p/tablet-pc-f-u-...attributes dual core a9 1.6ghz,1gb ram...same as the intenso but it has a 9" screen at the same price. I think I'll go for this one...any comments? |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
Not wanting to plug anything, but I can recommend the tablet I'm using right now - the JXD S7800b, as being very suitable for PPSSPP. It's a 7'' tablet with a RK3188 (quad core 1.8 GHz, Mali-400 mp4) and 2GB of RAM, plus it has PHYSICAL CONTROLS. Awesomeness ensues.
You can get one at dinodirect for $140, about the same as the tablets you've considered. I think it can give you more bang for you buck. Also, take note that due to its physical controls it's more the size of 9'' tablet. Take it into account as it may affect portability. |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
just to inform you guys that I went with the 9" F&U
big screen looks great and everything associated with android is nice and fluid tryed wipeout pulse on ppsspp as a sort of benchmark and it hit 50-60% speed in races with some graphical glitches... I believe that's pretty good since wipeout is by far the most graphic intensive game on psp I know and even my old dual core pc had trouble playing it...let alone a tablet pc lol I also tryed the antutu benchmark and scored around 12400 points. so to sum up,all is well! well...wifi speed seems a bit off and battery depletes quickly and takes a lot of time to charge up in my opinion but ooooooh what the hell! thanks guys |

Cool, some games run very fast.. wipeout is 100% in freeplay. fyi.
Also try reducing brightness for better battery life, (incase you didn't already know) Tekken dark resurrection, soul calibur, mk unchained, pes 2013, MHFU are some of the games that run full speed, I have a dual core a5& a9 @1ghz S TO DA G |

RE: is this tablet good for ppsspp?
my screen brightness is set to below the middle or around there.
after about 2 hours of wifi on and screen on all the time, battery got down to around 67% don't really know if that's quick or slow for a tablet but it seemed kinda quick for me lol and I can actually play all those games on the tablet? wow wonder how long the battery will last while playing persona 3 lol |
