I think GTA is too heavy for first-gen devices like C7.
First-gen devices have similar hardware to an iPhone 4. That is, most 3d games will not work at acceptable speeds.

Xsacha Do you mean that 3D games will not speed up for First-Generation devices?

Device: Nokia 701
System OS: Symbian Belle FP2
Version(Emulator): v0.9.6-789-g3d3b0b1

RE: PPSSPP Symbian Port
Xsacha, ppsspp(symbian) should take ram for better performance....
Because psp go has 64mb ram and 333mhz cpu and n8 has 256mb(130mb free) ram 680mhz cpu so n8 should be able to run gta by utilizing 64mb or more ram.

The max. RAM which can be used in symbian setted to Maximum by xsacha

but the emulator does not need That highest RAM it requires more CPU speed

but i use this settings, i can get 40-50% speed Smile

buffered rendering
framskip off
force to 60 off
hardware on
vertec off
scretch to dis on
mip map on
text tur filter : NEAREST
fast mem. On
dynarec on

Did you know what is heap size ?
If not you cant understand what I mean
Heap is the permission to app for using perticular amount of RAM (which is Maximum in PPSSPP) But emulator does not require More RAM on android CPU are better than our devices
and
Android is RAM eating OS
and Symbian belle is designed in such a manner so that it can work fast in low RAM
you can see the reviews of symbian anna users (experts) after upgrading to belle

This is because your Android device doesn't have dedicated Video RAM but instead uses the slower system RAM. Symbian devices do have dedicated video RAM which is why they are able to play PPSSPP with such old hardware.
First-generation devices have 32MB video RAM. Second-generation devices have 128MB video RAM.

I had to remove foreign-language fonts (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) from PPSSPP for Symbian because it was consuming 32MB of Video RAM and filling up all of the available space.

Up to 100MB of video RAM is used for complex 3D games and maybe only 28MB for a typical 2D game. This does not affect the system RAM usage on Symbian.

Android: 28MB game textures/images + 32MB fonts = 0MB Video RAM, 60MB System RAM
Symbian: 28MB game textures/images + 2MB fonts = 30MB Video RAM (all fits in to video ram, not able to use system ram), 0MB System RAM

When the game wants RAM, there is heaps of free RAM for it to use. It makes use of all the RAM. The truth is most games don't need much RAM. They are all (even GTA) intended to run on first-generation PSPs which have only 8MB of usable (out of the 32 total) RAM. Giving them more RAM unfortunately doesn't make the gameplay any faster either.

GTA is slow because, as you've discovered, the PSP has a 333MHz custom MIPS CPU with VFPU. Your Nokia N8 has a 680MHz ARMv6 processor with VFP. The 680MHz processor is emulating a 333MHz processor with an entirely different instruction set. This emulator has an incredibly efficient JIT but you'd still want at least 2.5GHz ARM cpu to be able to emulate 333MHz MIPS.
It's a miracle it works as well as it does. It's mostly down to the damn right awesome GPUs that Nokia stuck in these devices. If the GPU were any worse, I wouldn't have ever bothered porting this. I have many 1GHz+ devices that struggle with PPSSPP because of weak GPUs.
The second-generation devices (like Nokia 808) have a GPU on-par with most 2012 high-end devices.

Having a fast CPU means that you can generate all 60 frames/second (eg. game code/logic/movement) but you need a fast GPU to actually render them. Most Android devices have to resort to frameskip because their GPU can't handle it.

Hope that helps.

thanks

btw it is possible to map volume keys in symbian (now can be done in android)

Yes. It's a little complex. I need to 'steal' the keys from the OS and then monitor them using a Symbian API.
Unfortunately it requires SwEvent permission which I can't use without signing my app. The app would then only work on 'rooted' phones. Or I'd need to sign my app for each release which I don't remember how to do :\.
