RE: Keeps Crashing and killing my drivers
I'll bite.
From what I can see from the GPUz screenshot you've provided, your drivers are really, really old, dated 19/9/2010. I recommend at least upgrading them to these ones, which are the same ones I use for my own ATI/AMD graphics card with the laptop I have:- http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Catalyst...-2814.html These drivers are stable as a rock. Never crashed even once for my card. I've recommended it to every single AMD/ATI user on this forums with older AMD HD cards for PPSSPP, and it's worked well for every one of them. Try them and see for yourself. PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

Did you install those drivers correctly? Can we get a new GPUz screenshot to confirm proper installation of the drivers? The driver version should read "atiumdag 8.911.1.0 (Catalyst 11.11)" if it's properly installed. Anyway, here are some followup questions:- 1. Does this occur for any other emulated game besides Monster Hunter? 2. Have you checked your GPU temps while emulating? You can easily do that by clicking on the "Sensors" tab in GPUz and looking at the temps there. 3. Do normal games (i.e. PC games) cause this behaviour on your system? 4. Have you tried disabling Catalyst A.I. in the Catalyst Control Panel? It's a source of endless grief of ATI/AMD cards in this emulator. Also, have a look at my AMD/ATI guide for further inspiration. I think HP requires specialized vendor drivers for it to take, it's rejecting the newer standardized drivers we're trying to install over the older ones. Try searching for newer drivers on the HP support website for your card/laptop in that case:- http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support.html EDIT:- Does your HP laptop have a switchable graphics mode? What I mean by that, is, does it have both an Intel Integrated Graphics Card and AMD card together, or is it just the one dedicated card. Here's a great guide to get you started:- http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Di...-p/1406655 PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |
