RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
Updated the guide to reflect the release of 0.9.

Rough Changelog:-

-Screenshots were retaken from 0.9's NewUI, since the OldUI has been stripped completely of the emulator it seems.

-Changed the names of a few options which were altered in 0.9.

(Off I go! Only came back for a bit to update the perf guide)

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Your GPU doesn't have official OpenGL 2.0 drivers for Windows 7, which is why PPSSPP stopped working.

PPSSPP needs a graphics card that supports OGL 2.0 at the minimum to work. For Intel, that means you need at least the HD2000/3000/4000 for half decent performance.

I'm afraid you're out of luck for that graphics card.

I also want to know what is I/O on thread.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

I did some reading here and there, some says that on android if the dpi is reduced, the gaming performance can increase. Is it true? I wonder what effect does it can make for ppsspp?

I'm not solarmystic, but I did some independant testing of the function, and the difference in performance is very minimal on my Pentium D machine, so it doesn't really matter either way, unless you have a game that needs it to work.

An example would be Dead or Alive: Paradise, which needs I/O on thread option to boot up and work properly.

On Android, make any difference?

Quote:13. Turn OFF Vsync. (Will cause tearing in the image, but gives a performance boost) -Windows only, since Android devices have Vsync always on-

I believe you can also disable vsync on android. I did it using pimp my rom application.

RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
Hello again folks. I'm back for good this time around, I just came back from my vacation.

@GuilhermeGS2

The only reason why I haven't added the I/O on thread option to the performance guide, is exactly what bonquacks said.

On my Core 2 Duo machine, the performance difference was almost negligible. It was actually slower in certain games. (-2,-3 VPS, I still have the older framerate counters on my special PPSSPP build).

@cyclonmaster

Does that require a rooted Android device? If it does, it may not be so useful for those who don't want to root their devices.

I/O is related to the way it read file or interact with file and information (I think ahah)

These two experimental option break project diva Wink (the other one... I don't remember the name of it)

Hey everybody, tired of the way games are reported here? look here ->> http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5901

Wink RE: Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device.
Thanks for this guide. Now i can play almost game on ppsspp with full speed. Just want to share something Smile. I don't know if someone has said this before. For anyone who want gain little speed and smoothness when play ppsspp on android devices, try enable setting at developer option and check 'disable hardware overlays' and 'force gpu rendering' (You can check either one or both). It basically forcing every single app's drawing to be rendered by the GPU instead of cpu. As i know ppsspp is heavily depends on cpu. When you check of this two option, ppsspp now will gain little extra cpu power.

Blush Pro - would be smoother drawing in certain apps where HW acceleration is not utilized.
Confused Con - would be decrease in battery life, and possibly increase in overall phone temperature.
- certain apps may crashed by enable this option.

FYI, i have been playing Danganronpa on ppsspp android. Of course we have to used 'read framebuffers to memory(cpu)) mode which is essential to play danganronpa. Before i check this two option the speed is roughly in 16-24/30. After i enable it, the speed is increase in 28-31/30Big Grin.

However i not guarantee this tips is working on all android devices as it also depends on cpu and gpu specs.

Update 08-27-2013:

Well thats weird Huh . Now i know why i can play danganronpa with 'Read Framebuffers To Memory(CPU)' mode smoothly. Here what i thought Sleepy . While i playing danganronpa then leave the game(not closed) to used any other applications and then back to draganronpa, the rendering mode is automatically switch to 'Read Framebuffers To Memory(GPU)' or 'Buffered rendering' mode eventhough on screen, it still display rendering mode is 'Read Framebuffers To Memory(CPU)'. I said that because i can't interact with other characters in danganronpa.

Unfortunately this tips may actually not work but you can try playing with that setting. Maybe you can get 2-5% speed thats why i think Wink .

Good!!
Now I dont have to force vsync when playing mhp3rd Smile
----
Hey guys can i play mhp3rd hd with 60 fps but the speed is not >100% ??
when i hit 60 fps my speed is 200% & How to reduce the speed to 100% normal with 60 fps cap??
