Danganronpa. Can't interact

I just got Danganronpa to run on PPSSPP and I have now gotten to the part where I start to explore. Now, I can press everything and it does what it's supposed to do, but when I try to press X, A on my Xbox controller or Z on the keyboard, nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this or what the problem might be?
