The thing is with laptops is that you're paying for the portable aspect of it. So a equivalent desktop with the same specs would be cheaper. If it doesn't have to be a laptop I can point you in the direction of cheap 'gaming' PC's depending on your country.

i would prefer a laptop because i know this was meant to be able to run on android devices but it does run alot better on a pc than tablets and phones

Well, I've ran PPSSPP in a low-end laptop:

-Intel Celeron Inside Dual Core with 1.5Ghz
-4Gb RAM
-Intel HD Graphics 3000

It ran well, not perfectly, in some games the 60 FPS not was every time. I think if you buy a laptop a bit more powerful that this, will run nice. I want to buy a laptop with following aspects:

-Intel Core i5 3210M with 2.5Ghz (with Turbo Buster 2.0, I think goes to 3.0Ghz)
-4Gb RAM
-Intel HD Graphics 4000
The other aspects not are important now.

This settings is enough to run PPSSPP fine. This settings runs even some new games, some with lag, but runs Smile

Look at the specs of my 4 - 5 year old Intel Core 2 Duo laptop in my signature.

Old. Decrepit. Outdated. Outclassed by every other Intel Core iX based laptop out there.

Runs PPSSPP like champ. I get ridiculously high Speed for a lot of games when unthrottled.

Now, look at the cheapest modern laptops you can buy out there.

Any laptop with an Intel i3/i5/7 series CPU and ANY dedicated GPU (NVIDIA > AMD) will beat this emulator to the ground and kill it.

It's that simple and it makes sense, since this emulator was meant to run on slow as molasses Android phones in the first place.

What is your budget?

well i do have an old laptop but its got windows vista and the specs are

intel duel core processor 900 2.20 GH

and 3 gb ram

lol solar, it's not a bad rig at all...

Anyway, look for a laptop with at-least a 3rd gen processeur, the intel 4000 should be able to run it well...

Come to think of it, have the bare minimum requirements for this emulator on an X86 PC been posted anywhere on the main website or forums?

If it's not, we should really draft them and make it a sticky, for convenience in case anyone asks in the forums

E.g.

Intel Pentium 4 (Northwood Core) 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2.0 GHz
Any Open GL 2.0 compliant graphics card/chipset with 128 MB VRAM or greater
1 GB RAM

A laptop with Dual Core (around @2GHz) processor and 2GB RAM should suffice. But good luck running more demanding games though.

Hey, that's my laptop.

Honestly, I suggest you get mid tier (default i3/i5, 4GB RAM, n case you have slightly more cash to burn) laptop instead for future anticipations.

I think you would have a hard time finding a new laptop today that couldn't run ppsspp honestly. If you spending 300+ dollars on laptop today it should definitely be able to run ppsspp or you may of gotten ripped off.

I have already tested BRS on a Pentium 4 HT and it seems to be playable at least... and that's on the 0.7.6 build CPU load is almost always over 50 percent though... the GPU is an NVIDIA one but I forgot what model but it should be just as old as the CPU
