RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Going which direction? PSP to PPSSPP? Or PPSSPP to PSP?

I experienced the same thing with different games too. I suspect that the PSP firmare (CFW most probably) and ppsspp internal "firmware" save format collides since save encryption changed between different firmware versions, I could be wrong though. RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Current newest Revision 0.8.1-655-ga372e0b, they fixed black world map screen again and seem faster on android.
Just some motion blurs and spell effects not render correctly. Maybe from blend function. Many effects have square box with them. But I am totally noob. It almost has 100% playability as PSP for this game. Good work developers! |

I made some test with this build on windows 7 64 bit and the black screen on map is still present, at least until I uncheck buffered rending. Gurlok: Do you have Framebuffers to Memory on? Try unchecking it. That seems to cause a black screen with this game.
Buffered rendering on + neither framebuffer option, at least with NVidia. 4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux How to ask useful questions: https://web.archive.org/web/20110214010944/http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 I'm not Dark_Alex, nor do I claim to be. Ugh, you are right, that was my issue, that's odd though, the framebuffer option is causing quite a problem with different games lately. Yeah, it'd be nice if they could be removed or always enabled without glitches, so the user doesn't have to worry about them...

RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
Is it normal that enabling hardware transform doesn't impact performance in any way? In other games I tried, it gave a massive boost to speed. Is it just that it works in some games and in others it doesn't? Tried it on 0.8.1-409-g66891dc and v0.8.1-734-g9c73528 for xp.

Also dependant on your GPU and OS. That's right. A lot get a massive boost. Some don't. Some even perform worse when it's on. Experiment and you'll find out. RE: Tactics ogre : Let us cling together
For most 2D games, hardware transform doesn't do anything. It applies when rendering triangle meshes so heavy 3D games benefit the most.

Thanks for the reply. Still fishing for that one magic trick that will make the game run at 60 speed, the stuttering with frame skipping can be really annoying >.<.

I can get the remainder of the game to run well without problems but certain actions cause the screen to go black and I haven't seen a fix for this as of yet. Even on older builds previously recommended for this game I encounter the same issue. |

Which graphic card do you use? I used to have this problem only from very few old revisions. With the right revisions, I don't have this problem. I've played this game from beginning to coda chapter without any major issues. This can help developers narrow down the problem. I test with Adreno 320 from Nexus 4 android device. Nvidia GTX670m (Optimus) Intel HD Graphic 4000 ULUS-10565 ISO from PSN converted to CSO VPS is around 40-60 on android and 60 on laptop. Another way to get 60 VPS without frameskip on android is limit FPS to 45. Game will be slow down a bit and sound will shuttering (quality still better than FPS 60 + VPS 50), but no graphic shuttering. And with buffered rendering off, frameskip doesn't make graphic shuttering. Unfortunately, battle screen and some effects required it on. |

With the latest builds I find that the screen returns to normal if I enter the ppsspp menu and then back to the game after the damage numbers have disappeared. |
