PPSSPP crash on Windows 8

Exclamation PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
I've used 0.76 before on this computer and it's worked fine, however, today I tried 0.8 and the program crashed about 1 second or less after the program window appears.

I've tried compatibility mode & running as admin; neither of them worked. This happens no matter how many times I try to run the program.

However, if I hit the back button (bottom left of program) before the crash message pops up, then the emulator runs fine. I go to Settings > Audio and click "Download Atrac3+ Plugin", and the program crashes immediately, so I've determined that the search for the atrac3+ plugin is what crashes the program.

I'm running Windows 8. CPU and GPU shouldn't matter.

I'll try adding the program to my firewall exceptions list later.

Any help in the meantime?

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
Hm, thanks for reporting. I guess I will need to add even more error checks to the download code.

Do you guys have solid internet connections?

Please answer.

If its in a write protected or no permission location it could be crashing due to writing returning an error.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
I have the emulator placed inside my user folder; I'm pretty damn sure it's not a permissions error.

Henrik, my internet connection isn't great but I honestly don't think that's the problem.

Run LocalDump-On.reg in the attached zip then reproduce the crash

A dmp file will be created in %userprofile%\appdata\local\CrashDumps

upload it zipped to a file storage site such as google drive

run LocalDump-off.reg to turn off application crash dumping.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
Here's the crash dump. I assume the crash dump feature was already enabled, since I had multiple PPSSPP crash dump files.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
Only you have that installed, so its shouldn't be the cause of the issue.
