How to get started with multiplayer?

Hello,
I would like to play Tekken 6 with some friends online. How do I get this started? We are all using desktop computers

To play Tekken 6 online with friends on desktop PCs, the setup depends on which version of the game you plan to use, because Tekken 6 was originally released for consoles and PSP—not natively for Windows PC.

If you're on PC, you basically have two solid options since there isn’t a native PC port. I personally find using the PPSSPP emulator the easiest way to get a group together; you just enable the "built-in PRO ad hoc server" in the networking settings, and as long as you're all on the same server IP (like a public one or via ZeroTier/Radmin VPN), it works like a charm. If you want the better graphics of the PS3 version, you can use RPCS3 with their RPCN service, which emulates the online servers. It takes a bit more power to run, but playing the full console version online feels way more authentic than the PSP port. Just make sure you all have the same game version/region, or you'll run into "failed to connect" errors all night!

If you're doing this via PPSSPP make sure everyone is running the exact same ISO version or you’ll end up with constant desyncs. Me and my friends tried setting up Tekken 6 through the emulator like a year ago and burned through so many nerves with input lag and crashes every three matches. In the end we just gave up and switched to normal PC online games where you don't have to fiddle with network settings. We hopped into Path of Exile 2 because at least everything works right away there. Picked Sorceress, checked out a couple elemental combo guides on Skycoach to figure out how to stack shock properly and handle mana management, pushed our Cast Speed and went straight to blasting maps.
