Henrik .. Can Xperia Play emulate PSP 3D Games with full speed when this emulater is DONE ?

Any phone will emulate the 3d games at least at half speed when the emu is done. Wait for the 0.5 update for improvements and the 0.6 for an android dynarec that will improve the emu speed drastically

Why at half speed ? are u saying That our phone does not have enough power to emulate PSP ? PSP Only have 333mhz cpu with dual core . So it's 333 x 2 = 666mhz .. But our phone/xplay have 1ghz cpu .. can u explain why our phone cant emulate PSP with full speed ? because I Think android phone have better graphic than the PSP Smile

Because every emulation programs need up to 10x more power from the device we want to emulate e.b PSP emulator so if you want to play PSP emulator you need 333 x 10 =?(dual core CPU and up)

That rule is not a law of nature, but it's often an okay approximation.

But yes, it will definitely run them, but as for the speed we can reach, there's no way to tell until we do it. Wait and see.

When I said at least half speed, I was thinking about my optimus one, it's overclocked to 748Mhz and that's almost 3 times the speed of the psp. The emu should run at a 0.75% or something but since there are tweaks (like frameskip) The games could go fullspeed. Anything is possible.

I'm playing around with my xperia play trying fate extra, and I do hope with the arm jit, we can at least reach the half speed since I think we already reach 1/3 of the speed Smile

(or maybe less or more Smile

ahaha) and cpu is not even running at 100% ahah Smile

maybe with jit we can atleast use all the ressource we have Smile

Dude, I think you should read up a bit on CPUs, how a CPU works and how the architecture works, because clock speed does not solely determine CPU power.

well well, just tried the jit for pc with the latest build, this is amazingly fast. I have high hope in arm jit, finally, seems like jit takes less ressource then interpreter and is more effective ahah Smile

so well... maybe we will run some 3d at normal speed Smile

since I run them on my 2.66 old dual core much faster then the normal speed ahah

I suppose that a 1.2ghz quad core nexus should be able to play even at full speed right?I can overclock it at 1.6 but that's risky.

I have my xperia ray with Overclocked CPU to 2ghz from 1ghz .. I use it 5 Months and nothing Happen Big Grin

.. If ur phone start to HOT ,, Then u should stop playing ur phone .. OR u can use SET CPU to control the cpu if ur phone is too hot .. SET CPU will automatically changed the cpu when reach hot temperature that u SET to prevent damage Wink

xplay can overclock to 1ghz so 1.8 to 2.0 ghz should be enouph, also native frameskip will make it even faster.

not really, overclocking is risky only if you overclock it that much that it gets hot. Anyway if the phone cant go to a specified clock it restarts as a warning, so overclock just before it gets to the reboot clock. My optimus one is oc'd at 748Mhz and it's the max it can get but I never had problems in more than 1 year. Anyway youdon't need to overclock because it's a quadcore, so you should wait for the multicore support

When it was released I already thought they schuld Marke it a flagship device With quadcore cpu and HD display, but they didn't even put a dual core cpu in.
Also they should have mad psp games playable on it. Ps1 games are good, but psp games are by far better.
Thats why I didn't bought it. Bad marketing sony!

But I really would like to see a xplay 2 with a tegra 4 maby and full hd screen. Then playing on ppsspp would be by far more awesome that its even now.
