Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
The system will crash when auto-populating the games and icons, regardless of whether you are using the 32 or 64 bit version. The software will begin the process and at some point will just freeze and kill the program and revert you back to windows.
The only fix for this is to reverse to openGL. |

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
This doesn't happen for everyone, so it's probably specific to your graphics card or graphics card driver. What GPU do you use, and are you on the latest drivers?
Since you didn't say - I'll just randomly assume you're probably using a 3dfx Voodoo 5 card from the year 2000. Well, there's your problem. PPSSPP doesn't support such an old card at all, and neither does Vulkan. Okay, that was a joke, but it's hard to help without details - I'm stuck with making random guesses and dumb jokes. -[Unknown] |

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
I had this same problem with my AMD Integrated Graphics laptop. I uninstalled the AMD software and reinstalled it and now it works properly. Don't know what your set up is, but reinstalling the drivers for the graphics card might work.

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
I have the same issue. I'm using a Nvidia GT 710, and it's on the latest drivers available for it. I went back to a previous version after reinstalling it (starting at 1.6.3, then back to 1.5.4), but the bug still happens (It never happened on that version before installing 1.6.3).

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
As a sidenote. People need to find out if their GPU actually supports Vulkan before whining and pointing fingers. Not everything does.
https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/vulkan Here are the lists of supported GPUs. Also. People please. Post your PC specs. We cant help if we are left to guess what you are using. Everything is Hitsuzen! |

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
I'm using a Dell Optiplex 780 Small Form Factor, with a Nvidia GT 710 2GB GPU placed in. It has an Intel® Core2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz. I'm using 4 GB of RAM.
Reverting to any other driver does not fix the problem on my end. I tested if it worked using Dissidia Duodecim 012 and the cutscene at the start of the story. PPSSPP closes at the end of that cutscene. |

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
Strange, there shouldn't be any reason for 1.5.4 to start crashing after using 1.6.3, if 1.5.4 wasn't crashing before.
Does OpenGL work fine? In 1.6.3, OpenGL can sometimes be as fast or faster than Vulkan. If it's a driver bug, that may be the best option. -[Unknown] |

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
OpenGL does not work. That was when using the Install versions on windows. I just tested to see if the 1.5.4 zip and the 1.6.3 zip work, and they do. Both on Vulkan and OpenGL.
After an hour using the 1.6.3 zip, the bug started happening again. It seems to be happening on scene transitions, as this time its at the end of the scene which plays after battles. It is also happening with 1.5.4's zip now. |

Ok. It sounds more like you have different problem with your PC, that has nothing to do with PPSSPP.

RE: Vulkan issue with version 1.6.2 in Windows 10
Sorry for the delay responding. I have an Nvidia GTX 1080ti and an intel i7 7700k processor. More than enough for Vulkan. When populating the game grid, it freezes halfway through with Vulkan. This is not an issue with OpenGL. The issue remains with version 1.6.3
