RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
Impossible;p. Nobody maintains any accurate list of game's status and it's really impossible thing to maintain in active project where a lot of things are still changing.
There's also noone in this project with huge game collection and people who claim owning all PSP games at most would be pirates with lots of incomplete dumps and broken copies which problems could never be fixed and would just pollute status as it already does with forum threads that are used to at least discuss compatibility often ending in wrong places based on warez reports. Best that could be done is pulling the data from people's reports if the game was reported on same kind of hardware as yours, but those reports are mostly invalid and/or biased anyway and if that site shows anything, it would be that PPSSPP users can't work together towards maintaining such compatibility status list;p. Best to just check that site manually if you really have to, but you'll quickly see why I'm saying it's bad. I propose to just enjoy your time using PPSSPP instead of wasting time checking experience other people had in the past. Most popular games are fully or mostly playable anyway or have known workarounds in their forum threads which can make them them playable. Most psp games status would be unknown anyway since majority of psp games were never released outside of japan and most of PPSSPP japanese users might not be visiting this place due to language barrier. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
Alternative speed %
When using above option at 100% nothing happens for some games and it stays around 75 to 80. However, when keeping the option to unlimited does make it go till 300 to 400% which skips lot of frame and the game becomes unplayable. I am not sure if this would be categorised as issue or feature request. But I think if u can force the emulator to work on 100% alternative speed doesn't matter how many frame it skips ( it shouldn't be much with 100% speed) and I think this should resolve most of the issues related to speed and frameskip. ? Let me know if I am wrong. |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
^ The behaviour you're describing looks like caused by your OS throttling. That means it runs at lower clocks, because it doesn't consider load it has as worth clocking higher. This would typically happen on mobile platforms as they're very restrictive and aren't designed to run at their advertised power for longer than a few seconds if at all. When you unthrottle without limits it just decides to provide more power for a while.
If you're on android, PPSSPP at most can request running in sustained mode(there's an option for that in system settings). It will cause android device that supports it to lock the power somewhere between it's max power and the low power it wants to run which might result in slightly better performance in cases where it wants to stick to low clocks all the time. But that's really all, well you could try activating "Force real clock sync" in system settings hoping that slight increase in cpu usage causes your device to profile PPSSPP differently, but chances are it will do nothing or slow things down even more. You could also run different, more cpu intensive(but less graphically) app in the background or find some root-requiring app that can mess with your device power states enforcing it to run at higher power(potentially risking with a fire hazard or small explosion since again modern phones can't sustain their power and use it at most in short bursts). Otherwise just use frameskipping or auto frameskipping as much as you need to run the game at full speed within the power that your device OS decides to run.;] The only reason unthrottle appears to "help" and also why it might look "broken"(it really isn't) is because when trying to go above 100% speed on some operating systems like android, PPSSPP has to skip frames which means the higher it goes, the more intensive cpu emulation get's relatively to everything else causing your OS to profile it as more demanding app and allowing to push it even further. PPSSPP doesn't have anything it could waste comparable amounts of cpu power on, it's just optimized too well. Some debug features could probably waste enough time like frame profiler which happily eats up tons of cpu time on timing everything, but those are not available in user builds and hide the game under tons of overlay info which isn't particulary useful to end user;p. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
May I know what happened to the Disable Alpha test and Multi-threading feature of the PPSSPP on Android? I really love those features.
After updating to the latest version, those feature are gone. Some of my games are not running at full speed. Android user BTW |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
^Currently PPSSPP has new MT available only for Vulkan backend which might eventually be backported to OGL backend(no ETA aka it will happen when/if it will happen).
Old MT(experimental) as well as disabling alpha test were causing a lot of problems, those options were intentionally removed and will never return. If you feel like newer ppsspp versions run worse on your outdated device, you're free to use older ppsspp versions, nobody will ever force you to update and it's actually common practice in emulation for old/hackish emulator versions to be used by people who can't afford to upgrade their ancient devices. Supporting outdated hardware can't be dragged infinitely since it negatively affects future developement especially on platforms like android where average lifespan of a device doesn't go above 2 years and things change from year to year quite significantly. You should forget about reporting issues while using outdated versions through, time moves only in one direction(at least in practical way following human perception;p) and no changes will ever affect existing builds, bugs those versions have will forever be there. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
Could you add combo key mapping for hardware buttons please?
I'm using android version of PPSSPP on BlackBerry Keyone. The problem is, sometimes it is too hard to push two or more buttons on the QWERTY keyboard(on BlackBerry). So I want to map combo keys for hardware keyboard, but I couldn't find any feature to map those buttons at all to my hardware keyboard, except for the touch controls. Thanks for your hard work. |

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
A option for a button shortcut to Turn On/Off the Replace textures thing. That'd help me alot with my project, and certainly other people's projects, along with being able to free VRAM that is being wasted on the fly.

RE: PPSSPP Feature Request Page
Hi,
first, thank you very much for your work. I am enjoying ppsspp on my android phone every day on my way to work. And I would like to make a suggestion for a better game experience. Can you add an option, which resets the analog sticks center position every time the player hits the touchpad? Right now you can set the position of the analog stick in the settings, but it is always fixed, and I think the movement is not optimal when the position is fixed. Here is a great example (Final Fantasy 7 on Android): https://youtu.be/xN1rNqCvY1E?t=6m10s Here, in a tutorial for Unity Mobile, the tutor explains the exact problem with C#-Code (start from 42:00): https://youtu.be/4JWh9Zfz3PM?t=42m0s Thanks! |
