I cannot enter the game.

Startup video/logos/copyrights runs extremely slow.
Menu works fine
If I click new game the emulator crashes.
I think once I saw the first frame of the startup FMV video before it crashed.

Happy to help provide more information if shown/told how, I also own a CFW PSP 1000 so can rip games, firmware or files from that if required.

Ditto for me. Using 0.9.5 build of PPSSPP, tried using Orphis and Git latest builds, no joy.

Oddly using 0.9.5 I could enter the game, I use an xbox 360 wireless pad and was able to 'alternate speed' through the very laggy FMV's in Death Jnr 1 and 2 and then play as normal (so far) in game

@bassop your problem is a typical description of throttling caused by overheating.

This is not a ppsspp issue, but your device flawed design, which apparently does not radiate heat fast enough to run at high performance for a longer periods of time.

Nothing much you can do, other than playing less demanding games or trying hacks/frameskip to play with less power, you could also mod your device with better heat radiation or some kind of cooling system, but that's usually not possible with mobiles.
