PPSSPP won't save emulator settings
Hello, i have a problem with the emulator, it won't save any of the settings I change in the Game Settings. I've searched the forum and read the faq but I didn't find anything similar to this problem. From what I have understood the ppsspp.exe file after opened should create a ppsspp.ini which in my case doesn't happen; so when I change some option or button mapping or anything else after closing the emulator it won't save anything nor create this ini file. I tried all kinds of builds (32 - 64 bit, 0.9.x - 0.8.x) so I believe this problem is on my end but not sure why.
My notebook specs are: i7 q720m 4 GB DDR3 nVidia gt 230m Windows 7 64 bit I'm using Comodo Internet Security and I still have this problem with Comodo on/off and under excluded files. Any ideas? Thanks |

RE: PPSSPP won't save emulator settings
Where are you running PPSSPP from? Program Files/a directory without write permissions? If so, that's why. Try a directory like C:\Games\PPSSPP or C:\Users\<your user name here>\Documents as a test.

RE: PPSSPP won't save emulator settings
Wow that actually did the trick. I moved the folder in C:\ and now it works flawlessly. I am the only user of this laptop with an Administrator account and the folder was on the desktop, so after failing trying to "run as Administrator" I didn't bother to try this method. I'm such a noob -.-
Thanks you solved it ![]() |

RE: PPSSPP won't save emulator settings
No problem. I'm not really sure why it would fail on your desktop folder, but in the next release, I believe we're going to add an official installer finally(not for git builds, I don't think..that'd be weird), which'll default to saving all of your saves/memstick contents in your Documents/My Documents(on XP) folder, so that'll make it less annoying to run PPSSPP.
