How to Optimize PPSSPP Performance on Android

I'm using PPSSPP on a mid-range Android device and I'm experiencing lag when playing some games, especially heavy titles. I've tried changing the graphics settings like lowering the resolution and enabling "frameskip", but the performance is still unstable. Does anyone have experience optimizing PPSSPP on Android? What are the most important settings to ensure the game runs smoother? I'd love to hear your advice.
