MGS Peace Walker - Memory stif

After I beat ZEKE, my game was stuck in the screen with the ID, personnel, etc logos. I exit the game and I loaded my memory stick save to see if that would fix it, it didn't so I loaded my save state before the fight and I deleted the save to see if after I beaten the fight again it would all work normally once again. The save logo was red instead of the usual yellow, and I thought maybe it was corrupt. (Turns out it turns red after you've beaten the game once, I'm so stupid) When I tried to save my game after beating ZEKE, the game says it cannot find the memory stick. And now I cannot save at all.
I decided to start a new game to see if it was a problem with my copy and it can save correctly on this new game.
I probably fucked up badly, but I still have my old game save state there. And I wonder if I could somehow save it? I wouldn't want to start the game all over again, especially after just beating the game for the first time.
