Cant host quests, only join. Monster hunter 3rd hd

playing on coldbird server, if my friend hosts i have to problem joining if i host we always drop, any ideas as to what the problem is, we've tried running the game speed at 25% from right before we engage quest to after the quest loads but by this points we've always disconnected....
