VPS or FPS,which one should I be looking at?
I'm getting confused with this.
On Dante's Inferno for example, the VPS is 60,the FPS is 0 but the game is running at full speed. On .Hack//Links Demo the VPS is 60(if I remove the limit,it can go above 160) and the FPS is 20 but the game is kinda slow and the sound as bad as if the speed is not full speed or it's running above full speed. PS.I'm not using frame skipping and not graphic enhancements. And btw,is this supposed to be normal...when the emulator is minimized,it takes at least +10% more cpu usage than when it's not Using PPSSPP on Windows 7 x64 SP1 i7 4771 3.5Ghz,GTX750TI,16GB RAM Batch iso <=> cso converter http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5384 Save Game\States Manager http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5516 |

RE: VPS or FPS,which one should I be looking at?
VPS = Indicator of your system's performance on the emulator. If below 60 your system is struggling for that particular game in the emulaor.
FPS counter in PPSSPP = Internal measurement by the emulator. Consistent numbers that are unchanged, irrespective of your system specs. Can be either 30 or 60. If below 30 (e.g. 20) the game has internal slowdown issues. Use the CPU speed hack to rectify this problem until it can fixed by the devs. VPS counter is the more important one to look out for. FPS counter variances indicates an internal emulator problem with the current game. (e.g. slowdown, wrong GE timing etc.). Has nothing to do with how powerful your system is. RE: VPS or FPS,which one should I be looking at?
OK thanks for the info.
And about the other problem, can you start some game and see if there is any cpu usage difference between minimized and not Using PPSSPP on Windows 7 x64 SP1 i7 4771 3.5Ghz,GTX750TI,16GB RAM Batch iso <=> cso converter http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5384 Save Game\States Manager http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5516 |
