Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Hi all,

Bit of a beginner when it comes to this so forgive me if this has been asked before or if it is a bit of a simplistic question.

How do I get PPSSPP to recognise official game patches? I was under the impression you took the file in this case NPJH50468 and placed it within memstick/psp/GAME and the emulator would be able to pick this up. I have tried this with Frontier Gate with no results.
Are there additional steps and am I misunderstanding something?
