PPSSPP suddenly refuses to open any .ISO

PPSSPP suddenly refuses to open any .ISO
recently PPSSPP is crashing while loading any game, but it was working just fine
when i click to launch any game it just gives me a black screen and then closes itself.
i only use it to play Project Diva 2nd, i'm on Windows 10 (8gb ram/ i3-4010U) using the final 1.10.3 release. what could be the problem?
