Ridge Racer 2 - HD Texture Project (1.2/WIP)
«About this Texture Project»
This is a project to modify the game Ridge Racer 2 to have better quality textures for crispness and clarity. Only possible on PPSSPP. For use ONLY WITH Ridge Racer 2 (EUR) - NOT FOR Ridge Racer 1 (USA/EUR) This texture project uses some textures created by Lee "R-Type Leo" Robson, used with permission from his discontinued/dead texture project. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- «Comparison Shots» https://imgur.com/a/zERhq2d More to come soon! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- «Downloads» >> DOWNLOAD THE HD MOD HERE << -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- «How To Use/Install» 1. First, you want to enable the "Replace Textures" option inside PPSSPP. To do that, you go to Settings > Tools > Developer Tools and check the box for it. 2. Afterwards, go to your PPSSPP directory (Windows Installer Version is in My Documents/PSP) (Windows Zipped version is in memstick/PSP) (Android is in flash0/PSP) 3. Create a folder named TEXTURES in the same place as GAME, PPSSPP_STATE, SYSTEM, SAVEDATA, etc. 4. Put the folder named after the GAME ID inside of TEXTURES. (Make sure the folder's name matches the GAME ID) So in a nutshell, it should look something like: For Installer version: My Documents/PSP/TEXTURES/UCES00422 For .zipped version: memstick/PSP/TEXTURES/UCES00422 (UCES00422 being Ridge Racer 2 (EUR)'s Game ID) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- «Changelog» Code: [1.00] - 3/24/2019 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- «FAQ» -- When are you doing the speedometers? They are part of the HUD! -- SOON™ -- But what about the minimaps on the HUD? -- There are a LOT of tracks and track variations in this game. So pulling and editing every single minimap will take a lot of time. But it will happen eventually! -- Will this mod ever do car or racetrack/stage textures? -- Possibly! It would take a very, very long time to do them all though. So for now: those textures are CONSIDERED for the future, but won't be happening any time soon. -- Why Ridge Racer 2 and not Ridge Racer 1? -- Well, RR2 is more or less the same exact game as the first one, just with extra content and minor tweaks/changes. Think of it like Monster Hunter Freedom 2 compared to Freedom Unite. But for whatever reason, 2 was never released in the US. Only in Japan and Europe. So I'm going with the game that offers more in this scenario. (You better be used to km/h instead of mph!) Come and join the official PPSSPP Discord server: https://discord.gg/5NJB6dD |

RE: Ridge Racer 2 - HD Texture Project (1.2/WIP)
excellent work.
I just had a quick look, after 1 play before after only, so i can't tell all the differences. main thing I noticed is the nitro meter, they're now boxes, rather than tanks.. keep up the good work. |

Hey brother. How's it going with the project? Any progress on re-texturing the tracks and environments? That would be awesome!
