Select button unmappable

This is is a bit of an odd place to ask for help but ill try anyways... So i have an xbox one s controller but the view or select (the button opposite to the start button) button is mapped to back on android, so whenever i try to map it in this emulator or any for that matter, it goes back or in PPSSPP place it goes to the save state menu ish. This started happening today i believe which is bizarre...

Do i need to root my phone to remove this mapping or what?
