Curent PPSSPP Version Not Working on Windows 10
The current version of PPSSPP doesn't work for my windows 10 device.
Everytime i try to open it, it immediately closes. The version I'm using is v1.5.4-83 which is working for my device. But I want to use the latest version so that I can improve the quality of my gaming experience. Here's my device specification Processor: Intel ® Core i7-7500 CPU @ 2.70 GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.88 GB usable) System type: 64-bit, x64 based processor Display Adapters: Intel® HD Graphics 620 NVIDIA GeForce 940MX |

Try using the latest Git/dev/test builds from https://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index.php?m=fulllist then?

RE: Curent PPSSPP Version Not Working on Windows 10
Okay so here's the issue, any kind of build just doesn't work for my device. Only 1.5.4-83 works. But it has so many issues especially when running my games. It's laggy, too slow and too choppy. I don't know wtf's the problem with this emulator and why the latest version does not work for me.

RE: Curent PPSSPP Version Not Working on Windows 10
There's nothing like "PPSSPP doesn't work in win 10" it does work just fine, most of us use win 10 without any problems.
Your problem is that you have a weak older laptop with nvidia and intel graphics and whichever is set as default one fails to use Vulkan which from some time was made default in PPSSPP. Either try to update graphics drivers to latest ones(both for nvidia and intel) or simply extract new ppsspp over old one with ini file already created so it keeps using same backend that worked for you. Overall there was a decision to change windows default backend to d3d11 which works better anyway exactly for the sake of vulkan missdetection. But if it's still not done, just use ini file from the version that worked or manually switch backend by editing ini file if it even get's created. Upgrading drivers can be enough to support vulkan through assuming they are still getting updates. If you have slowdowns etc those are more likely caused by your settings not ppsspp version since not that many things changed and like always there are some regressions as well. We do have a bunch of settings that scales very well for powerful pc's, which yours is not. You can try plugging in your laptop to a wall socket and/or change power plan to performance to make it a bit better, but you really can't use too much graphic enhancements on such system, both of it's graphics chips are just too low end and graphics is typical bottleneck of PSP emulation. CPU power is only trully demanded for texture scaling and software rendering, but those work best at modern cpu's with many highly clocked cores, laptops are just meh, especially old ones and even with limitations set to avoid it, stutter and stuff alike can happen when using texture scaling on slower cpu's. Also take note, psp games ran natively at low fps, sometimes even much lower than the "cinematic experience", if that's what you call "laggy" and "choppy" then PSP emulation is just not for you. There are fps patches, but most of them break physics or other things and can't be considered an improvement. http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=6594 - Custom PPSSPP Shaders! http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=3590&pid=117172#pid117172 - simple CE scripts to help creating CWCheats, https://github.com/LunaMoo/PPSSPP_workarounds - CWCheat workarounds. |

RE: Curent PPSSPP Version Not Working on Windows 10
Try anything of these:
0. find any IT related games lover man around yourself in reality that will explain you few things, will teach you how to get notes and google. 1. "right click -> run with graphical processor". Run with Nvidia. 2. In "right click" properties give ppsspp administrative rights, then go to Nvidia settings and configure to run every application with Nvidia GPU [sometimes reboot might be required] 3. Google for Vulkan drivers. Download and install. 4. Avoid power settings higher then "adaptive"/"balanced" to save laptop for more then 3-4 years. Monitor it's tempretures under 100% load for both of CPU and Nvidia GPU. And an instead configure settings in nvidiaprofileinspector, intel control panel, nvidia control panel, games/emulators/ppsspp .ini etc. config files, Windows dpi scaling, font AA and system custom resolutions [see a difference between display adapter resolution and blurry scaled low-to-original resolutions by Windows, by GPU intel/nvidia] 0. Make sure you googled well before posting messages that steal your time, and lots of people's around in their tries of guessing and repeating the same information again and again as if they were programmer's prayers. At least always type full list of what you've already tried before [in addition of using of an older version] [your laptop is powerful enough for ppsspp, which is the most optimised and user-friendly emulator ever created. I remember playing on steady 60+ fps with overspeed even with Pentium G2020 + GT610 using 1xPSP] |
