Combo button with Analog Stick?

I've been missing the POV Hat in GTA Liberty City Stories
POV is controlled by the combination of L+Analog Stick so I wanted to map my second analog stick to both commands.

I tried mapping both L and Analog to Analog stick 2 on my DS3 controller, but the combo doesn't seem to register.
I'd assumed this was due to L being triggered multiple times, but it registers properly if L is tied to multiple non-analog buttons.

As a workaround I mapped the AS2 clicker to L, and left AS2 stick as Analog only, but holding down stick 2 isn't as easy or intuitive

If anyone knows a config that will allow the analog directions to act as a combo, it'd be much appreciated.

I dont think it is possible to bind ANALOG together with a button. That would need some messy hacks.
