"unable to reset d3d9 device"

Hi there.

I'm trying to run in Direct3D 9 mode on Windows. Games will initially load fine, but ppsspp will crash very early on with the error "unable to reset d3d9 device."

Specifically, graphics will stop rendering, but sound will work. The error occurs and the emulator crashes if I move the window around, try to maximize it, etc.

For example: in dissidia 012 the problem occurs right after I press OK on the autosave screen. In Ys 7 it happens after the title screen about 5 seconds into the first cutscene.

My rig:
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Home
CPU: Intel i5 4460 @3.2GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: GTX 970

I've attached an output log from ppsspp during the time it throws the error message.

Any tips on what I can try to get around this are appreciated!
