PPSSPP Android network issue

Hi all, new to the forums.

I've searched everywhere I can think of and asked around but haven't found anything on this. Every time I start up PPSSPP (Android v1.1.1) on my Nexus 7 tablet and run a game, particularly MHFU, my WiFi connection stops working. The only way to bring it back is to refresh it by enabling/disabling airplane mode. I never had the issue until I enabled networking in PPSSPP and attempted to join a game. Since then, whether networking is enabled or not, I encounter this annoying issue. Any thoughts on what the cause or solution may be?
